What estate planning documents do you recommend?

For most people, our office recommends:

  1. A Revocable Living Trust
  2. A Pour Over Will (the type of Will that accompanies a Trust)
  3. General Durable Power of Attorney
  4. A Durable Power of Attorney for Health Care and Health Care Directive (often referred to as an "Advance Directive")

For those who prefer to not create a Trust at this time, a detailed simple Will may be sufficient. Our office will discuss all of these options, including the pros and cons of each, with you in great detail during our initial consultation.
